US census and differential privacy

Science is reporting on ways the US Census Bureau is trying to preserve privacy in data it releases.

Reminds me of Antti’s lecture (pdf) in the Introduction to Data Science -course I was assisting last autumn.

As private individuals are more and more concerned about usages of their private data, also employers will have to take action to make sure that individual data is not leaked via reports common in HR functions.
